Growing up in a seafaring family on the northern beaches of Sydney , I was destined to work in the maritime industry.
My grandfather, father and uncle showed me the way from a young age. Upon leaving school at the age of 15, I stepped onto my first boat and I feel like I have barely had a day away from the water since.
Working my way through various qualifications from deckhand, to Master and Engineer in the past 6 years. I joined the whale watching crew a year and a half ago as the engineer and first mate on board the flagship of the fleet ‘Catalina’ and have loved every moment of it since.
I am constantly surprised by how the sea conditions and vessel traffic changes day to day on our beautiful waterways. Never a dull day when I get to see whales, dolphins, seals, incredible sunrises and the most vivid of sunsets.
