Doug is one of our Ferry Masters that skippers our whale watching vessels throughout the season.
He is also a marine scientist with a background in fisheries research and marine conservation. He has been involved with research programs including migratory seabird behaviour, commercial offshore fisheries, and environmental impact assessments of numerous projects on the marine environment.
He started working with Whale Watching Sydney in 2015 and has skippered all our vessels over the years. He brings his ecological research experience and passion for the Sydney coastal marine environment to our cruises.
Doug loves sharing this unique offshore experience, not just of the migratory humpback whales on their journey past our beaches and headlands, but also the many other marine species including other whales and dolphins, sea turtles, seals, sharks and fish that are encountered on our cruises.
